IODIUM (IODINE) - A very good Disinfectant and for treating skin problems

We have seen the properties and usage of HEPAR SULPH, which can be used for treatment of Vertigo, Arthritis and others.

Now we will read about IODIUM. It can also be called iodine.

IODIUM is prepared with very cautiously by liquidating iodate salts in alcohol. Subsequently this solution is again diluted continuously and stirred well till to achieve the desired levels of dilution.

This remedy is an ideal agent to clean the wounds and keep them disinfected. So it can be used for skin infections.

IODINE can also be used to cure the patients with any of following symptoms

Heart feels squeezed, Feeling painful compression around heart (ANGINA PECTORIS). Palpitations even from least exertion. Heart feels as if squeezed by an iron hand followed by great weakness. It is very well useful to treat disorders of heart and blood vessels.

Vertigo and fainting - Worse immediately after rising from seat or from bed or even after slight exercise.

In the case of ABDOMEN it can be used to cure enlarged liver and also for enlarged spleen.

The other indications are:

• Patient may feel hungry with much thirst and feeling better after taken food.
• Loose mouth gums with bleeding and 
• Thyroid enlargement.

It will work with 6th to 30^th potency.

Dosage: For adults it is 4…4….4 and for children 2…2..2.

This remedy is an excellent DISINFECTANT. For external use take four pills and dissolve in one oz. of water and can be used to clean the wounds or infected parts of the body.

HEPAR SULPHURIS CALCAREUM (Hepar Sulph) for vertigo, stomach disorders, Arthritis and others

We had seen about DULCAMARA which is an effective medicine for Rheumatic pain and skin problems in my previous post. If not, please check it out.

Now we will discuss about another medicine called HEPAR SULPHURIS CALCAREUM. This is normally called HEPAR SULPH in short.

This medicine is derived very carefully from the fine powder of oyster shell and is mixed with cleaned and dried flowers of SULFER (“Flowers of Sulfer are not flowers, but a yellow power that is obtained from natural deposits of a mineral, which look like tiny flowers under a microscope. This is a natural product.  Sulphur and Sulfer are same as per etymology – Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur#Spelling_and_etymology). The mixture is then heated in a porcelain crucible and left to become cold.  After that the contents (powder) are dissolved in hot hydrochloric acid, mixed with milk or sugar, and then diluted.

It is one of fine remedies for abscesses but it is useful only before the abscess is open.

HEPAR SULPH is generally prescribed for the people who are suffering from cold, coughs, sore throat, abscesses, inflamed cuts and wounds.

This can also be used to cure arthritis, constipation, sinusitis, and skin infections.

This remedy is also used to cure nails of the great toe when painful even on slight pressure and also for swollen finger and joints.

HEPAR SULPH has a positive effect on such skin problems like eczema, boils and herpes.

Some of the other physical symptoms for which Hepar Sulph can be used are:

• The patient cannot bear to be uncovered and gets coughs when any part of his body is uncovered
• Stomach disorders and Glandular swelling,
• The patient may be feeling very anguish in mind, in the evening and night with thoughts of suicide, may be feeling very dejected and sad.
• Suffering from Vertigo and headache while shaking head or on riding etc.,
• Urinary symptoms like weakness of the bladder, and feeling some urine is always remaining in the bladder. It is a remedy for old men who are suffering from bladder diseases.

Dosage: This medicine is effective from 3^rd to 200^th potency and the dosage is as usual  4…4…4 for adults and for children 2…2…2

CONIUM MACULATIUM (POISON HEMLOCK) – Medicine to treat Cancers, Prostate problems

In our two previous posts we have seen the functions and properties of CANTHARIS, a good medicine for urinary problems and CHAMOMILLA, and an effective pain killer. In this post we will find the properties of CONIUM.

CONIUM is prepared by using the fresh flowers of HEMLOCK plants along with their roots. You can find nice picture of hemlock flowers here -

While preparing the Conium medicine, Subsequently the herb is crushed and macerated in alcohol and being diluted.   

Interesting note – In Ancient Greece, Hemlock flowers were used to prepare poison for prisoners. The famous Philosopher Socrates is supposed to have been killed by a potion containing Hemlock

It is a very special remedy for treating glandular enlargements, cancerous tumours like breast cancer and other cancers like prostate tumour. Conium is prescribed for men who are suffering from enlarged prostate and prostate cancer and also to treat the patients who are suffering from urinary problems such as pain and difficulty in passing urine, also when the flow of urine is intermittent.

It is one of the fine remedies for prostate enlargement who experience hard and heavy prostate.

The other physical indications to use conium are

• Flow of urine suddenly stops and continues again after a short interruption
• Vertigo particularly when lying down or turning over in bed, and also when turning head sideways.
• Feeling stitches extending from the abdomen to the right side of the chest. And in the case of stomach indication of sores around the root of the tongue, acidity and burning, gastric ulcers etc.,
• This medicine also will help to treat the old age people who suffer from giddiness. And also in the case of old age patients find pain and stiffness while walking.

Yes CONIUM is one of the SPECIAL medicines for treating cancers like breast cancer and prostate cancer etc. So it is one of the cancer remedies in homeopathy.

Dosage: 4…..4…..4 for Adults. It will work with 30^th to 200^th potency.

It is a medicine mainly for treating men who suffer from prostate enlargement, prostate tumour with urinary troubles.

BRYONIA ALBA (BRY) for Glaucoma, Constipation and pains

Bryonia Alba is prepared from the root of herb called bryony. This drug is mainly used to cure coughs, terrible head ache, flu etc.,

The other indications are:

Feeling pain in every muscle and Stitching pain in chest greatly aggravated by any motion, and Swellings, Rheumatic pains.

In the case of head the symptoms are Vertigo, Nausea, Fainting sensation on raising, Head ache with pain in eye balls and the pain getting worse on motion.

In case of Eyes, BRY can be used when eyes are Feeling pressing, crushing pain. It will also work well to cure GLAUCOMA.

In throat, BRY will be helpful to cure Dryness in throat, Stitching pain while swallowing, and Feeling too thirsty.

In case of Constipation when stools found hard and dry BRY can be used to cure those problems and help to pass free motion.

In the heart and chest when indications of stitches in cardiac region with breathing difficulty with ANGINA PECTORIS this remedy can be used to cure those problems. For this case, it should be used in tincture form. 10 to 15 drops mixed with 50ml water twice a day for ten days

Further this medicine can be used to cure acute gastroenteritis. It will also relieve pains associated with arthritis.

Dosage: Adult dosage is 4….4….4. For children 2….2….2 for a week or ten 

days. It will work with 6th to 200th potency

Calcarea Carbonica (Cali-car)

In our last post, we discussed Barberry, which can be used to cure a variety of symptoms ranging from Rheumatic pains, Fistula in ano to Urinary problems.

In this post, we'll see about Calcarea Carbonica that is also another useful medicine for a wide variety of common problems.

Calcarea Carbonica is one of the most commonly used medicines in homeopathy. It is made from the middle layer or inner lining of shells and is prepared by a process of grinding into a very fine powder to purify the same.

This is specially used for high Blood Pressure patients.

It will also be of a good help to people who get easily tired due to poor stamina with breathing trouble. It is to be noted that this breathing problem will worsen when walking up slopes or stairs and also when looking down.

It is very good medicine for old people for boosting their stamina. It is used for giving nutrition to bones.

In case of Mouth, the indications are Dryness of tongue during night, Bleeding on gums, Toothache and also Feeling of Burning sensation at the tip of the tongue.

In Head, the symptoms are Feeling sense of weight on top of head, Head ache with cold in hands and feet, Vertigo on ascending and or turning of head.

This Cali-car medicine is very useful to cure eczema.

In the case of Stomach, it is used to cure stomach ache occurring during fasting and after intake. Other symptoms occurring after eating like Nausea, Head ache, Palpitation and feeling of blood rushing to the head and feeling sleepiness.

In the case of urinary, it will be useful for the following problems. Burning sensation in the urethra during urination and Desire for frequent urination.

So this Calcarea carbonica can be used for energy booster and to cure high B.P. and also for strengthening of bones. Please note this one of the fine remedy for old people. 

Try this medicine first for a limited period of week or 10 days. Stop it if symptoms are cured, otherwise try again for limited period.  

Dosage: Can work well with 6^th to 200^th potency and Adult dosage is 4…..4…..4 and for children 2…2…2

Belladonna (also called BELL)

In the last post, we saw a medicine for Arnica Montana (Arnica) which is useful to treat injuries.

In this post we will see about a medicine used for Vertigo, body pains and Headaches etc.

Belladonna has a marked action on the circular system and blood vessels. It is taken from the poisonous plant called ‘deadly nightshade”. It is an example how homeopathy use poisonous materials for some remedies. In reality the poisonous elements are completely eliminated after successful treatments of dilution and succession. 

This remedy can be used for the following symptoms:

• Suffering from vertigo when stooping (bending forward or bowing) and
• Head ache due to noise, light, and jarring (moving of the body suddenly and unexpectedly) and leaning forward.
• Feeling pain particularly in abdomen and pelvis areas. It should be noted that this kind of pain will come suddenly, will continue for a longer period and then pain will disappear suddenly.
• Dry cough which will worse in the evening
• One wants to sleep but cannot.
• In the case heart, the indications are Feeling violent palpitations, Shooting pain along the limbs and Sleeplessness with drowsiness.

It is a fine remedy for body pain, headache, and throat pain due to cold. It will also give good relief in the case of acute urinary infection

It is also a good remedy for children who suffer from cold, flu, sore throat, nose feels dry, and find difficult to swallow even liquids.

In my opinion this remedy works well specially for throat problems and body pain.

Dosage:

4….4….4 for a week for Adults, for children 2…2…2 and works with 3^rd to 30^th potency.

  

Kali Sulphuricum

Kali Sulphuricum is an oxygen exchanger. Like Ferrum Phosphoricum, this salt will work as oxygen exchanger,  that means this remedy works in effecting the transfer of oxygen while inhaling. It is present in all the cells of containing iron. 

Short fall of this salt will result in the following complaints: Headache, Pain in limbs, Vertigo, Brittle nails, Poor hair condition.

It is very good remedy for BRONCHITIS, whooping cough, asthma, ear trouble. It is also remedy for tuberculosis, mensuration, indigestion, disorders of eyes, albumin urea.
