Health benefits of Lemon

Before discussing about Lemon, let us see what is Naturopathy? Naturopathy is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on natural remedies to stimulate and support the body’s own healing. Naturopathy follows and utilizes the healing power of nature.

In my previous posts I have given views about Honey, Sunflower seeds, Insulin plant, Turmeric etc., Now I would like to share views about the medicinal benefits of the small yellow fruit - Lemon. This beautiful yellow fruit is smallest among other citrus fruits and contains more health benefits.

and has been used in cooking and also for medicines for several years in almost all the countries. Lemon contains 5 to 6 per cent of citric acid. This acid naturally helps for easy digestion and is one of the reasons that Lemon is used in Indian traditional medicines.

Lemon contains most of the vitamins and minerals. It has got wonderful healing power. It has got rich vitamins like Vitamins A,B, C and B1 and also some iron, calcium, potassium etc., it is low in calories say 29 per 100 grams. Lemon is rich in dietary fiber and is also one of the very low glycaemic fruit

Medicinal Benefits

Accumulated toxins can be flushed out if we use lemon. It is considered as a Detoxification. Lemon juice is an excellent natural hair cooler. Juice of this fruit is used to treat disorders of throat and to prevent common cold and fever because it contains vitamin C.

By consuming lemon the immune system of body is boosted. Since it contains vitamin C, it enables to improve body’s resistance at all levels. Lemon acts as a tonic for liver and pancreas. This juice will improve appetite. It is an excellent remedy for Flu.

Drinking lemon juice is the remedy for rheumatic fever with pain in joints. Lemon tea will relieve head aches and heartburns also. As is commonly known, it is a wonderful simple remedy for nausea, vomiting and travel sickness.

Elderly people require more vitamin C than youngsters. Since lemon contains vitamin C it helps to strengthen the capillaries in certain vascular diseases. Lemon is used to relieve from constipation also.

Since lemon contains potassium which helps to control blood pressure. Lemon helps to control heart rate also.

Even for Uninary related infections and problems, lemon can be used. Lemon is a diuretic which prevents accumulation of fluids in the body. Its antibacterial property helps in reducing urinary infections.

DULCAMARA (BITTER SWEET) for Rheumatic pain and skin problems

In our Previous post, we read about the medicine CONIUM (from Hemlock) which can be used to treat a few types of cancers and also prostate related problems. In this post we will discuss about DULCAMARA, mainly used in case of Rheumatic pains.

Dulcamara is mainly used to treat the rheumatic problems connected with damp cold weather which is aggravated in every change of cold weather and getting relieved when moving around.

In the case of urinary problems, it can help cure the feeling of urgency to pass urine on getting chill in feet. That is when standing or touching with bare feet on chilly (cold) places.

This medicine can also be used to cure stiffness in neck and shoulders due to cold weather (cervical spondylosis), paralysis, paralyzed limbs and feet due to cold.

In the case of skin, it can cure bleeding, ulcers, little boils, red spots, bleeding when scratched, and also eczema. Added to its credit DULCAMARA can cure number of skin disorders like ring worm and itchy skin etc.,

In the case of throat it works well on aching throat, bronchitis, headache with feeling of heaviness, pain caused by sinusitis

Diarrhea and nausea can also be treated with this medicine.

Let us see how this DULCAMARA is prepared. It is prepared by using the fresh green leaves and stems of the bittersweet plant which is also known as bitter night shade.

Dosage: This medicine can work well with 3^rd to 30^th potency. Dosage for Adults is 4…4…4 and for children it isa 2…2…2

CHAMOMILLA - An effective Painkiller

We have seen one of the active remedies called CARBO VEG, in our previous post now we will see the function of CHAMOMILLA

This medicine is prepared from the herb called German Chamomile - One of the annual flowering plants widespread in Europe. You can see a nice picture of this in the wikipedia page here.

To prepare this medicine the entire plant is crushed and then juices are extracted and the collected juices are diluted with alcohol.

This is extremely beneficial to those who are very sensitive to pain and in the case of infants who are suffering from tooth aches and pains.

CHAMOMILLA is also a very effective medicine to get relief from colds, dry coughs, ear pain. This remedy also can be used to cure digestive disorders, especially when suffering from cramping, or pressing stomach pains with digestive problems and vomiting symptoms.

In the case of back, it will work well to cure the insupportable pain in joints and hips, and also stiff of neck muscles.

In my experience, I used this remedy to get relief from leg pain with numbness and other neurological disorders.

One of the main symptoms to use this medicine is, suffering from violent rheumatic pains that drive the patient out of the bed at night and compel the patient to walk around. Burning of soles at night and loss of power in the feet at night with unable to step make steps.

CHAMOMILLA is more or less a painkiller like ACONITE and cab be tried as an alternative to aconite.

Dosage:  Dosage as usual is 4…4…4 in the case of Adults and 2…2…2 in case of children and it will work with 3^rd to 30^th potency

Do not forget CHAMOMILLA is another painkiller.

CAUSTICUM for Pains, Sore Throat and Urinary problems

In the last post, we saw about Bryonica Alba (BRY) which is an excellent medicine for Glaucoma, Constipation etc.

CAUSTICUM is prepared from blending of slaked lime and sulphate of potash. It is mainly used as first aid remedy to cure burn injuries, and all pains with burning feeling.

This medicine can also be used mainly to cure chronic Rheumatic, Arthritic and Paralytic problems indicted with tearing, drawing pains in the muscular and Fibrous tissues. It can also be used as cure for Restlessness at night with tearing pain in the joints and bones.

In the case of Head, main indications are Head feeling the sensation of an empty space between the forehead and brain.

Regarding Throat, CAUSTICUM is very useful remedy for Sore throat with dryness and pain and also to treat Stiffness and pain in the neck, throat, and back.

In the case of chest, this medicine can be used to cure the chest pain with palpitations.

This medicine can be used to cure patients with Sufferings due to dull and tearing pain in the hands and arms and also Feeling heaviness and weakness over the body.

Especially CAUSTICUM is a very good remedy in case of Urinary problems – e.g. when patient is Passing urine involuntary while coughing or sneezing, Urine is expelled slowly with loss of sensibility during urination, Retention of urine after urination and Feeling bladder full of urine but no desire to pass. This is also excellent medicine for getting relief from Bladder infection and Feeling urgency to pass urine.

For pain with burning feeling or burning injuries immediately choose this remedy CAUSTICUM. And also don’t forget to use for the urinary problems with the above mentioned symptoms

Dosage: Adult dosage is 4….4….4. For children 2….2….2. It will work with 30th to 200th potency

Berberies Vulgaris (Barberry)

Through my earlier post we were able to understand a bit about the function and properties of Belladonna. In this post we will read about the medicine called BERBERIES VULGARIS. It is also known as "Barberry" This medicine is prepared on the extract from the root or fruits of the beriberi plant.

The main indications to use this medicine are:

Feeling less thirst, hunger, loss of appetite etc. Its most marked symptom is pain in the regions of kidneys.

It is very useful to cure renal and bladder problems and also Gallstones.

It may also body pain emanating from the lumbar region.

It is also a cure for fistula in ano.

In the case of urinary problems the indications are: Feeling retention of urine even after passed, Feeling pain in the bladder region and in the thighs, Frequent urination and Burning in urethra when urine is not passed.

In respiratory system this medicine can be used for curing tearing stitches in the chest and in the heart region, Rheumatic pain on shoulders, arms, hands, and in fingers.

In the case of Gallbladder, problem of violent pain in the region of gallbladder.

BERBERIES can also work for the effective healing of soreness in the lumbar region of lower back which spreads to the thigh and probably creating stitches like pain in the region of abdomen or in any side of the body.

It is also a remedy for neuralgia under finger nails.

It is available in the form of liquid.

Dosage: 10 to 15 drops mixed with 50ml of water twice a day morning and in the evening for ten days. It works well on 6^th potency.

Natrum Phosphoricum

Natrum Phosphoricum can be called acid neutralizer. 

Any imbalance of this salt will cause the following problems.  Digestive upsets, heart burn, rheumatic pain, acidity, etc.

Indications:

Gastric and intestinal disturbances with acidity, Diarrhoea, Colic, Spasms due to acidity, Thick yellow coating in the tongue, Pain in the thighs while climbing or walking through stairs, Restless legs.

This remedy is also useful for cracking, tearing, drawing, pressing, stitching pains in joints and shoulders.

This kind of salt is mainly found in the blood and in intercellular fluids

Biocombination BC NO. 19 - Homeopathy Remedy for Rheumatism

Biocombination No .19 is a very effective remedy for Rheumatism  

The indications of Rheumatism are:

•   Shooting and stabbing pains in the joints of legs or in arms, becoming worse during night times
•   Fever, swelling on joints, pain in mid and lower back and muscular pain

Composition:

Ferrum phosphorium-3x,  Kalium sulphuricum-3x, Magnesia phosphorica-3x,  Natrum sulphuricum 3x.

Kalium Sulphuricum:  This helps to cure rheumatic headache that begins in the evening, pain in the nape, Back limbs.

Magnesia  phosphorica: This is an antispasmodic remedy. Will help to cure cramping of muscles with radiating pain, neuralgic pain relieved with warmth.

Natrum sulphuricum: This remedy is for violent pains at the back of the neck and at the base of the brain.  It is also a liver remedy. It will relieve the pain in limbs, legs, hip joints and rheumatism worse in damp cold weather.

Dosage: 4……4……4 for a week or ten days .Use this good remedy for the problem of Rheumatism.
